Current Projects and Responsibilities

  • Project leader and Technical coordinator for KIT. Two projects on numerical simulations: Non-unity Pr-number turbulence and Turbulent thermal fatigue. Projects within the joint EU programme 5 of EURATOM on Thermal hydraulic issues and development of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes for advanced reactor systems (THINS) in the seventh framework programme by the European Commission (February 2010 - January 2014).
  • Project leader and member of the coordination board. Project on numerical simulations of boiling crisis in pressurized water reactors, within a national research program on reactor safety of German Federal Ministry for Research and Education (BMBF) Energy 2020+ (December 2009 - November 2013).
  • Project leader. Within a joint international research program on High Performance Light Water Reactor (HPLWR), a research project on large eddy simulations and direct numerical simulations of supercritical turbulent flows (November 2008 - October 2011).
