Research Task

Experimental investigation of heat transfer to fluids under supercritical pressure conditions:

  • Experiments at the KIT Model Fluid Facility (KIMOF).
  • Effect of wall roughness due to corrosion on heat tranfser.
  • Measurement of heat transfer coefficients and pressure losses.
  • Development of new correlation for heat transfer to supercritical pressure fluids at rough wall.
  • Supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses in the frame of the projects ECC-SMART and H2GG

Application of Neural Networks to thermal hydraulic problems:

  • Presdicitons of heat tranfer at supercritical pressure conditions.
  • Prediciton of CHF at wall boiling
  • CFD with aid of Neural Networks
