Simulation of Hydrogen Distribution in Large Rooms with Coarse Grid CFD (H2GG)

A major safety concern of hydrogen technology is its violent chemical reaction with oxygen, which can lead to combustion and even detonation. The overall goal of the H2GG project is to develop a suitable numerical simulation tool to predict the concentration of hydrogen in gas mixtures in a large space.

The project consists of three main outputs:

 

  • Identification of a CFD program with selected sub-models as a reference tool for the simulation of hydrogen distribution;
  • Development of sub-models using AI procedure and improvement of the reference tool;
  • Analysis of hydrogen distribution using the newly developed CFD program.
