Main goal of this project is to enhance and develop
the modeling of the post-dryout (PDO) heat transfer and rewetting .
Therefor, a fundamental experimental data base needs to be enhanced in
order to validate and advance existing and new models. State of the art
temperature and visualization measurement equipment allow the
measurement of the thermal non-equilibrium as well as the visualization
of flow patterns and therefore offer a better understanding of the
physical mechanisms of PDO heat transfer and rewetting. In addition, a
new fluid-to-fluid scaling law is developed to transfer the aquired data
to water conditions. This scaling law is validated with the enhanced
data base.
