The overall objective of this project is the modeling of hydrodynamic parameters that decisively influence the decontamination factor in the swarm flow against the background of pool scrubbing. Therefore, both experimental and numerical investigations are carried out to better understand the mechanical processes on the one hand and to provide a database for the development of new models to describe the velocity and residence time of the gas phase on the other. The optical experiments are used to investigate various influences such as water height and the presence of aerosols on the hydrodynamic parameters. The numerical analysis can be divided into the investigation of single bubble behavior and swarm flow.
