When do I have to apply?

The deadline to apply is November 1st, in order to travel to Argentina in the following summer semester.
 

How many vacancies are there annually?

Usually six places can be offered, depending on available budget from DAAD.
 

Are there any additional tuition fees?

No, within the agreement between KIT and ITBA on the dual degree, ITBA is waiving their tuition fees.
 

Are scholarships awarded for the programme?

Yes, upon acceptance to the programme, students are offered a scholarship financed through DAAD. KIT retains the right to demand a refund of the scholarship by the student in case the ITBA degree is not completed.
 

When is the master's degree awarded?

Upon completion of the ITBA courses, the transfer of credits is initiated between ITBA and KIT in both directions. After the credits for appropriate courses have been transferred, the separate rules of ITBA and KIT apply regarding the completion of the respective degree, and both degrees are awarded independently.
 

How does it work with the master's thesis?

The master thesis must deal with a topic related to energy and environment, and must be written in English. It is jointly supervised between ITBA and KIT and can be carried out either at KIT or at ITBA.
 

What is the required grade point average?

There is no fixed required grade point average. Admissions are decided based on the available budget and on the following criteria:
  • Study focus on Energy and Environment
  • Educational performance / grades
  • Knowledge of Spanish language (no fixed level required at time of application)
  • Gender balance

Is there a linguistic preparation?

Accepted KIT students are expected to participate in a two-week Spanish course through the Sprachenzentrum of KIT (usually end of February / beginning of March, total of 20 hours).
ITBA offers additional Spanish courses in April upon arrival in Buenos Aires (possibly for a small fee) .
